How often are views updated?
Shoot reads view counts from the platforms on a schedule rather than live, so a small lag between what TikTok shows you and what Shoot shows you is normal and expected.
The schedule
- First 24 hours after posting
- Roughly hourly. This is when a clip moves fastest, so it's checked most often.
- After the first 24 hours
- Roughly every two hours, for as long as the clip is still counting toward a payout.
- Once a clip has finalised
- Roughly every 12 hours. Applies to clips that hit their per-video cap, campaigns that ended, and campaigns whose budget was fully used — the count still refreshes so brands see real reach, but nothing is riding on it.
A lag is not a lost view
Your payout is calculated from the view count at each check, so views arriving between checks aren't missed — they're simply counted at the next one.
When the numbers don't match
- Shoot is behind the platform. Normal — wait for the next check.
- Shoot is ahead of the platform. Also normal. Platforms revise their own counts, usually downward, as they strip invalid views.
- The count went down. Views identified as fake or bot-driven are removed by the platform or by Shoot's own checks, and any earnings attached to them come off too.
- The count stopped entirely. The clip has probably finalised — check whether it hit its per-video cap, whether the campaign ended, or whether the budget was fully used.
Give it time before reporting a problem
If a clip has been live for less than a couple of hours, or the gap is small, it's almost certainly the schedule. Get in touch if a clip hasn't updated for well over a day and hasn't finalised.

Why does Shoot show fewer views than TikTok?+
Usually the refresh schedule — Shoot checks roughly hourly for the first day and roughly every two hours after that, so it can sit slightly behind. It can also mean views were removed in verification.
Do I lose views that arrive between checks?+
No. Each check reads the current total, so views arriving between checks are picked up at the next one.
My clip's views stopped updating completely — why?+
The clip has most likely finalised: it hit its per-video cap, its campaign ended, or the campaign's budget was fully used. Finalised clips move to a slower refresh, about every 12 hours.

Earnings track live view counts, so they can move as counts settle. They can also be adjusted or reversed for fake or manipulated views, duplicate or stolen content, chargebacks, refunds, or campaign reconciliation.
Per-video caps and minimum view thresholds
Campaigns can set a maximum a single video can earn and a minimum number of views before it earns anything. Below the minimum a clip earns nothing; once it crosses, it earns on its full view count — not just the views above the line.
